A good porch looks as if it was always part of the house, so Amber Windows begins in Solihull by looking at what is already there. The glazed parts are made at our factory in Coleshill, and our team surveys and fits the finished porch.
Bring us the brickwork, the window frames and the front door you already have. We can work with a variety of wall and brickwork options and different roof designs, and we can choose windows and doors from our own range to echo the rest of the house. If you want to change the front of the house too, our windows and doors are made in the same factory.
Glass in a porch brings in light and lets you see who is at the door. Glazing has to comply with building regulations, and ours is fitted by our own teams and overseen by our in-house surveyors.
Beyond the porch itself, we look at the step, the existing front door and the way the new roof will meet your wall. We also talk about which way the porch faces, so you can decide whether extra glazing is worth having.
Porches are normally exempt providing they are under 30 square metres inside. The glazing and fixed electrical work still have to comply. Your council can confirm for your address.
Most porches are treated as permitted development. Our porch planning permission page explains the criteria, and we will sort out an application if you need one.
That is one of the best reasons to build one. A porch gives you space for coats, shoes and umbrellas. We will talk through layout when we measure up.
We build it, from the base to the roof. Browse bespoke porches or the general porches page.
Each job comes with our comprehensive guarantee, and finance is available if you would like to spread the cost. If you are planning more work, we also supply conservatories and bi-folds. See our locations.
