Porches from Amber Windows are made to measure at the Coleshill factory and fitted in Wolverhampton following a survey by our own people. Local people often ask the planning question first, so we begin with it.
The majority of porches are permitted development, so no planning permission is needed. According to our porch planning permission page, the criteria are:
Rules can differ for each property, so check with your local council. If you do need permission, we will sort it out for you.
Porches are normally exempt from building regulations if they are under 30 square metres measured inside. The existing front door between the house and the porch has to stay in place. Glazing and fixed electrical work must comply, which our fitting teams do.
Within the porch you can use the same double glazed windows and doors that we fit across homes. We also have a page for Wolverhampton showing the area we work in. Learn how we build on bespoke porches.
Yes. Tiled, hipped and flat are all possible, and the roof is built as part of the job.
It adds an extra layer of security for your front door, along with shelter from the weather. It does not replace good locks, so we will discuss the door too.
Not necessarily. We make the glazed parts ourselves and look after every stage of the installation.
Our finance page explains the options, and you can ask us at the survey.
Your porch is covered by our comprehensive guarantee. We also make conservatories and bi-folds if you want to do more. Browse the general porches page.
