We recently replaced the front door on a red-brick terraced house in Lower Gornal, DY3. Like every Amber Windows installation, the door was surveyed, made at our factory in Coleshill and fitted by our own team. The photos below show the entrance before and after the work.
The old white uPVC door, with its two narrow glazed panels and lion-head knocker, has made way for a new grey composite door. The new door has a single diamond-shaped glazed panel, a silver-finish lever handle and a matching letterplate, and it sits beneath a glazed toplight in a white frame. The grey works nicely against the red brick and the cream stone heads, giving the front of the house a cleaner, more modern look without losing its character.
A front door has to fit its opening properly to seal well and open smoothly, so we always start with a free home survey. On a terraced house like this one, with a small walled yard in front of the door, our surveyor measures the opening, looks at the step and the brickwork around the frame, and talks through colours, glass and handles with you. The door is then made to those measurements in Coleshill, so there is no guesswork on fitting day.
Every door we fit is covered by our comprehensive guarantee. Amber Windows is FENSA registered, and finance is available if you would prefer to spread the cost of a new front door.
