Amber Windows has replaced seven windows at this red-brick house in Lichfield, WS14. Both photos were taken while scaffolding was up at the front of the house, so the after shot shows the new windows in place with the scaffolding still standing. As with every job, it started with a free home survey, and the windows were made to measure at our factory in Coleshill.
The order was for seven standard uPVC windows. On the front of the house you can see three white windows on the first floor, one of them beneath the white-boarded gable, and a wide window on the ground floor beside the green front door, under the tiled roof that runs across the front. In the after photo, these openings have new white uPVC frames, and the scaffolding is still in place, with an Amber board fixed to it. The green front door and the white roller garage door were not part of this job.
With first-floor windows sitting above a tiled lean-to roof, scaffolding gives our fitters safe access at height. It is put up before the old frames come out and only comes down once the job is complete, which is why it still appears in the after photo here.
Seven windows across two floors means seven sets of measurements, and each one has to be right before anything is made.
