Amber Windows has made two new uPVC bay windows and one standard window for this semi-detached house in Sutton Coldfield, B73. Unlike most of our case studies, the second photo here was taken part-way through the job, so it gives you a look at how our fitters work rather than the finished result. As always, the work began with a free home survey, and everything was made to measure at our factory in Coleshill.
The order covered two bay windows and one standard uPVC window. Before the work, the house had an upstairs bay and a downstairs bay, both with leaded diamond top lights and separated by a curved band of dark tile hanging, alongside a plain white window on the first floor above the front porch. In the second photo, scaffolding is up across the front of the house and the old upstairs bay has been taken out completely, leaving the opening clear and prepared for the new bay to go in. The finished job is two new bay windows and one new window; that final look is not shown in these photos.

Replacing an upstairs bay is a bigger job than replacing a standard window, so our fitters put scaffolding up first to give safe access at first-floor height. The old bay is then removed and the opening is prepared, so the new bay, built to the surveyed measurements, can be fitted, sealed and finished. Our team keeps the work area tidy as they go, and once the new windows are in, the scaffolding comes down.
Bay windows are made up of several angled sections, so the measurements and angles have to be exactly right before anything is made. At the free home survey, our surveyor measures each bay and window, checks the structure around the openings and plans how the job will be carried out, including any scaffolding needed for upstairs work. Everything is then built to size in Coleshill.
Both bays and the window are covered by our comprehensive guarantee. Amber Windows is FENSA registered, and finance is available if you would prefer to spread the cost.
